Something that both clients and other photographers are curious about is why I structure my pricing so differently to other photographers, so I thought I would talk a bit about why I chose this way and touch on copyright which plays a part of it.

The weekend before last I spent a couple of hours doing my last runs for the season down Eyre t-bar on Mt Perisher, while I didn't have my camera with me, I did have my phone which doesn't do too badly when I take the time to stop skiing and take a few photos - which is rare, I tend to not want to stop when skiing.

Normally when I go to Nightfest, it's primarily to photograph the performances. I usually plan out my night to get the chosen spots, have a couple of cameras, multiple lenses and a tripod. This year photographing it was not the main reason to go, I still took a camera and a monopod, but didn't go to my usual lengths of planning and gear.

Back in 2010 I was approached by Julius T Johnson to do a shoot. Julius has modelled around the world for a number of years and was living in Canberra at the time.

A couple of years ago I became aware of the Cairns underwater film festival, at the time all photos entered into it had to be taken within the area of the Great Barrier Reef so I wasn't able to enter, however last year there was a new international category. At the time I didn't find out until too late, but this year I was on the ball and entered. I'm pleased to be able to say that I was runner up in the creative category for 2014. Last weekend I won first place at the Nudes on Tap exhibition at the Tap Gallery with a print titled Angeldragonfly. On the night I was asked many of the same questions: Who was the model? What was she covered with? Who came up with the pose? and were there any other photos from the shoot? To answer the first and last questions, the model was Aingeal Rose, and here are some of the other photos from the shoot.

I'm often asked what my favourite model, shoot or photo is, my usual answer is that there are far too many to choose from, which is correct. I find I like far too many of them for different reasons. One of my favourite photo shoots was a couple of years ago with Elaina Noir on one of my trips to Sydney.

On my last trip to Queensland I stopped off at the Gold Coast to photograph Lily Jay, as it was her first nude shoot we did a few different styles.

One of the things I like most about photographing nudes is the way different lighting plays across the body, photographing underwater adds another dimension to the lighting.

Sometimes I will photograph someone who while being completely comfortable photographed nude, would prefer not to be recognized in the photos.
