As a long time admirer of the aerial arts, I've wanted to do a nude aerial photo shoot for quite some time. Last year when Lilly Rae visited Canberra I finally got the opportunity to do one.

Lilly is a traveling model based in Melbourne who has a dance, gymnastics and yoga background and had been learning aerial silks which made her a very good choice for the shoot.

Thanks to iSpin I had access to a studio with a sling and Lyra (hoop).

As well as aerial, I also wanted to show off her flexibility so after the aerial shoot we went back to my studio for some ground based shots.

One of the setups that I use on occasion is a rather large light box, which allows me to light the model from above and below which can make for interesting lighting effects - particularly with contorted poses.
